Being very new at this, I pretty much ruined my tip on a very new cue, trying to shape it. So I took it to a local shop for a new tip. The shaft came back with at least 20 scratches and nicks on the shaft. Is there a product that can help with this? And any idea how they could have done this?

Ken,
I'm not sure how the scratches got on the shaft. I would ask whomever changed your tip. There is a product from McDermott Billiards called McMagic. There are a few other manufactures that sell a similar product. It is 4 small reusable sheets that work very well for me. These are good for getting out the little bumps you can't see, but definately feel. The cost is less than $10. Do not use any kind of sandpaper - it will just whittle away the shaft until all you have left is a toothpick. |

There is a product called the Dent Buffer by Dr Glass. I've had success for years removing small dents, nicks and scratches with it. I work at the Golden Cue in Bridgeville, Tues through Sat nights. If you bring it down I'll be happy to see what I can do with it, no charge, as a courtesy to another pool player.
You can call me at the room 412-221-0280 if you like. Edited by Tom K - 06 Nov 2008 at 4:41am |
